I remember working hard at my hotel desk at 3am in Singapore. Even though I'd only have 4 hours of sleep before the next day's Leadership Workshop, I had a huge, stupid grin on my face.
You see, I was designing a blended teambuilding program so spectacular, so unique, that I was awash in excitement... and hoo boy, I am so proud of the results we delivered.

Through 12 - 14 Jan 2024, I was blessed to be the lead trainer for Mindful Solution's (eLearningMinds and UpSkillingMinds Sdn Bhd) teambuilding event, and I really wanted the participants to embrace the organization's new core values, immerse in a deeply fun and effective blended teambuilding program, and walk away with actionable strategies.
📱 We started off with a digital quest 3 days before the physical teambuilding, "The Journey of Sir ByteHeart" ⚔ , on the mobile learning platform Gametize. Through this captivating quest, the participants formed their teams and got to know each other better with thought-provoking sharing sessions!
💻 I also curated bite-sized topics on TalentLMS, emphasizing Mindful Solution's core values. This was crucial because participants could self-study and load up on important competencies before the program, saving us precious time to play more games and conduct deeper debrief sessions!
🥇 We kicked off the physical teambuilding with a blended Treasure Hunt utilizing Gametize. At each of the 3 stations, the participants had to complete quests given by Archmage Sheau Yun Ho, Warlock Aaron KWAN 關秉耀 and Ranger Hafez, cement their learning via dynamic debriefs, before heading off to the next station.
🥚 🥤 🎈 🎊 When the participants safely arrived at Thistle Port Dickson, we had more time to play some of my trademark teambuilding games: Egg Reflection, Cup Transfer, Balloon Blitz and Furious Jigsaw, each emphasizing one core value of the organization. What truly put a satisfied smile on each participant's face was the application of what they had learnt earlier on TalentLMS, with the teams who practiced what they learnt online grabbing the most points.
🤝 Of course, any good teambuilding program must also focus on the future. We dedicated half a day to a lively and laughter filled strategic session, where we used "artifacts" earned throughout the teambuilding program to enhance the discussion. By the end, each department had a clear plan and roadmap to achieve its declared goals.
